Why it's Lucky to Love a Black Cat Poster
14 Reasons You'd be Lucky to Love a Black Cat
1. Black cats are just as loving, loyal and playful as other cats, but are the least likely to be adopted and the most likely to die in shelters.
2. You can pet them before work and their fur won't show up on your suit.
3. Black cats are lucky in Japan, and Japan is cool. The black Maneki Neko protects you from evil.
4. You save money on Halloween decorations.
5. In Ancient Egypt, where cats were domesticated, black represented good and red represented evil. Egyptians believed hosting a black cat would bring the favour of Bastet, the goddess of protection against contagious diseases.
6. As Bastet was a good mother, Egyptian women who wanted children would wear amulets of Bastet with her kittens.
7. Lots of people have tiger cats that don't look like tigers. When you say you have a house panther it really looks like a house panther.
8. Without black cats, all other cats would only have one life. The idea that cats have nine lives came from the legend of the Cat Sidhe, a fairy who could change into a black cat nine times.
9. Black cats were chosen to be ships' cats because their luck would protect sailors.
9. It's a Scottish belief that a strange black cat's arrival to the home signifies prosperity. In the rest of Britain, black cats are traditionally lucky for brides, and a woman with a black cat will have many suitors.
10. August 17 is Black Cat Appreciation Day. How many cats have their own holiday?
11. A black cat crossing your path is unlucky-- if you're a burglar.
12. All cats are descended from red or black cats, and white cats may actually be genetically black with an extra gene that masks their true fur colour. So any cat you choose is more likely than not to be partly black, anyway.
You might as well help out a cat whose black gene is showing. They'll be grateful!

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
