I am a Septic Shock Survivor and a amputee (lost all my toes). I am a runner and was told I would never run again. To date I have run 2 1/2 marathons and I have a goal to run Chicago in 2022. My butterfly design was created by a dear friend of mine. It is a sign of new beginnings and part of the butterfly is made from the Sepsis Ribbon. In the Ribbon is the quote "Celebrate the little victories in life, those can lead to the biggest changes." I started improving when I saw the improvements I was making and not just focused on the things I could no longer do.
