SolFood Collective was started by Chef Jacquelyn Jones of Starving and Single, to use as a platform to share her story of using food as medicine, the importance of a plant-based diet for our health and our planet, emphasize compassion for all animals, bring awareness to the importance of pet adoption (adopt, don't shop), and living a cruelty-free lifestyle. The monthly day retreats embody a variety of teachers and healers to help you connect your mind, body, soul, and spirit and bring people together to share a beautiful afternoon of self love, self care, connection, and awareness. SolFood Collective was asked to join the Food Network for The Great Food Truck Race Season 10 cast, where we spread our message of compassion, living a healthy cruelty-free lifestyle, and using food as medicine, while serving up delicious vegan dishes! 25% of proceeds go to Care Rescue LA, a non-profit organization that not only rescues and helps to save animals in need, but also tries to prevent more animals from ending up on the streets or in the shelter through knowledge. They also rescue dogs from Yulin, China, the home of the worlds biggest Dog Meat Festival, where 10,000-15,000 dogs are tortured and killed for consumption.
