About
I hatched the idea for Pawsitively Creative as a way to offset the costs of surgery, care and recovery for Radar The Rescue Dog, whom we adopted in 2020. Raids, as we like to call him, has had more than his fair share of injuries, surgeries, and challenges. He was surrendered as a puppy to The Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter. His front left paw was shattered, his left ear was torn; he had lacerations to several areas on his body, and he had a hip injury. After he recovered from surgery and treatment at BARCS, he was fostered through The CatWorks Inc., a Reading, Pennsylvania, animal rescue group. Although BARCS did a great job with Radar's injuries, he has required additional surgery to address ongoing issues. These include Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomys (TPLO) on both legs (at the same time!); and an upcoming femoral head ostectomy to ease the pain from hip trauma related to his previous injuries. Despite all the pain and surgery he's endured, Radar is a loving, protective, and loyal dog who never seems to lose hope. He is looking forward to making a complete recovery so that he can hike, run, and play with his humans again! His favorite games are fetch, hide-and-seek, and keep-away — all using his beloved green ball.
