Many years ago when we lived and beachcombed on an island in Canada, we heard tell of a far-off place back in England. A magical place where the sea glass was extremely special, like jewels, often multi coloured and astoundingly beautiful. The place was called Seaham. Years later we came back to the UK to live, and purely by chance we ended up living in Seaham. Of course, the first thing we wanted to do was to go to the beach and see if we could find this marvellous sea glass we'd heard about. Sure enough we did find some wonderful Seaham multis over the years. It gets harder and harder to find those specials pieces these days, but they are still there and a few hours of beachcombing will often reward us. The pieces we find are sold to collectors and jewellers and we know that they will be treasured forever, but it's sad to see them go and this is a way of keeping a little of them alive in our hearts and minds.
