About
When I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer (more specifically invasive ductal carcinoma) I was floored, but I also eventually got this attitude that I'd just get it over with, kind of like getting over a cold. Over 6 years out from this disease, I've learned that this is a journey - - not a destination. Prior to this diagnosis, I didn't really think about breast cancer awareness at all. I never thought it would happen to me. Being in active treatment in the middle of Pinktober taught me that breast cancer awareness needs to be 24/7/365, not just in October. It can be incredibly hard to fight this disease when the reminder is all around you, everywhere you turn. So awareness and support need to be mindful. We don't want to make a person's journey harder through our awareness. We want to support each other each step of the way - - sometimes each breath it takes. PWCG provides awareness for the public AND a support group for those fighting this every single day of the year. We're with you, and we give you the tools to help you take this one day at a time, one moment at a time, and even one breath at a time. We would love to give 50% of our PROFIT to things that support each other: research for stage 4, money to organizations that help breast cancer patients pay their medical bills, funding for photo shoots to help heal the wound to our self esteem when we've lost a sense of our femininity.
