About PACODES PACODES strives to improve facilities of education, community healthcare, parenting, clean water, agriculture, and humanitarian aid, in addition to peace and conflict resolutions for the Panyijiarians in Southern Sudan. Our first goal is to construct a library for the community in Panyijar. Check out the details of our plans on the Projects page. PACODES seeks to aid and improve the education, health, humanitarian aid, agriculture, faith, and lifestyle of the people of Panyijiar County in South Sudan. About Us: PACODES is an official North Dakota nonprofit 501 (c) 3 exempt organization that supports charitable missions founded by the Lost Boys of former Sudan, now Lost Boys of South Sudan who live in the United States. PACODES is managed by a ten member board of directors including Sudanese representatives. The organization also has membership and is officially registered in the Republic of South Sudan where it is making a difference. About Panyijiar County: Population: 120,000 95% of county is underdeveloped only 1% of poplulation is literate only 2% of the area's natural water is clean About The Lost Boys of Sudan: The Lost Boys are survivors of the Sudanese Civil War (1984-2005). Seeking escape from a murderous government, thousands of boys made the perilous journey to relief camps in Ethiopia and Kenya, battling disease and starvation en route. Some of the survivors now live in the U.S., and are looking for ways to help their native country. The PACODES Library Project will open doors to education, foster community growth, and reduce the debilitating effects of poverty and violence in South Sudan.
