About
I am interested in Buddhist philosophy and using my painting to explore and understand the teachings. I tend to work quickly, using charcoal to outline a composition and then oil paint on top. I feel a painting starts to work well when it speaks back to me, introducing new lines of thought as I work. I try not to preconceive the finished image, but let the painting develop ideas as I work. This demands constantly moving direction and being very fluid, which is an exciting way to work. I have exhibited across the UK and have paintings in private collections including the Palace of Westminster.
