Lexy's Thailand Trip 2018

I'm currently raising money to help fund a Mission trip to Thailand with an organization called Joni & Friends to help those in need in the disability community. I have been actively involved in supporting the special needs community for over 4 years. I help organize and facilitate monthly Respite Care for 40-50 children with special needs to give parents a night off. I also run a Before and After School Program for children with disabilities whose parents may need additional support with extended schedules. As I was praying to the Lord about His will for me this summer, one passage stood out in my mind. Isaiah 6:8 says, "And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me!" I asked myself, where can I offer support? Who can I help, and how? It was then that I decided to travel to Thailand to help Joni and Friends with their Global Mission to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community. What better way to serve than leverage and grow my experience in Special Education? This opportunity will allow me to focus on enhancing lives through the Gospel and advocating for this special community in need. As a member of this Mission I will help to minister children with disabilities, as well as serve a supportive role—from distributing wheelchairs, to helping orphaned and at-risk children establish a network of foster homes. To cover the cost of this trip, it’s my responsibility to raise a total of $3,000. 100% of the proceeds from any purchase in this Zazzle shop will go toward my Mission fund. With your help, both finically and through prayer, I will gain training and experience that will help shape me into a leader for disability ministry and expand my career path in Education.
