The idea was simple: Make designs, become a designer, live a happy life. But it's not really like that. As we get older, life gets in the way of our dreams. In the blink of an eye, you're in your twenties, you have a car, mortgage, kids, a monthly Netflix subscription; your dreams of becoming an artist have slowly faded away over the years. The anxiety that has built up over your cautiousness of pursuing something you're passionate about because it's not financially stable and you have responsibilities now caused the years to go by so fast. But one day, something happens. You get made redundant. The once stable job you relied on gets stripped away as soon as your boss calls you in for a meeting on Thursday morning to discuss "cuts to the business". Well, that's the real origin story of how Kyme Co. came to be. With 4 weeks impending to find another job, I thought back on my dreams. Opening this shop was the leap of faith to see if I could make something substantial and connect with others through my designs. Now, the idea is simple: A great story needs to be told, not simply made. You just have to make it happen. © KymeCo.
