Every night there are 8,000+ Un-sheltered Homeless People in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. 40% of this number are women and children" <br> We would like to not only decrease homelessness, but prevent it from happening- Kimara's Promise -Helping people help themselves- At the age of 19, I had a beautiful daughter named Kimara, I promised her to always do my best to afford her all the essentials she needed to get through life. With “Kimara’s Promise ” (named after her) I’d like to make that same promise I made to her, to the community in which I live and be able to teach others how to do the same in theirs. Homeless Outreach Goals: Bi-Annual Pop-Up Shops- FREE: Clothing, Toiletries & Assistance: Providing people with the basic daily hygienic needs & preparing them for the brutal weather elements. The goal is to be able to provide, a free meal, bag of groceries, weather appropriate clothing & needs like, sleeping bags, long johns, coats, sweaters, etc. along with important information on Shelters, Housing, Jobs, GED Programs, Health Care & the ultimate goal of free basic health screenings on the spot. Work Readiness Workshop Goals: Bi-Annual Work-Readiness Workshops to provide the necessary tools to help people get back into the workforce and off the streets or out of their current situation....Helping people help themselves! Assisting with the following- *Resume writing *Mock interviews *Work Clothes *Health tips & Screening *GED Information & Sign-Ups *Make-Overs / Hair Cuts & More! *Hiring Companies & More! Every Sale off of this site goes back into helping us function and continue to assists us in obtaining our goals of educating and employing those trying to climb out of homelessness and make those who are un-sheltered a little more comfortable….until they are able to start the climb themselves.
