About
A native Oklahoman, Ken is a juried-winning artist of multiple art shows. He is mostly self-taught, though he has studied the arts at several universities.
His work includes colored pencil and ink work, acrylic, watercolor, oil and beeswax, among other mediums.
For almost three decades, Ken worked as a graphic artist and editorial cartoonist for General Motors and the United Auto Workers. He also contributed editorial cartoons for the Midwest City Sun until its final publication in 2009. He is now concentrating all his time and effort to the creation of his artwork
“I believe the artist reaches closer to the heart of God than anyone else, for God is the original artist,” Ken said. “He is the Creator of creativity. As Andre Gide said, ‘Art is collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.’ When I am lost in the process of creating, I feel as though I am holding hands with God, or rather He is directing my hands and guiding my thoughts. For me, it is truly a spiritual collaboration.”
