Irene Cortez Illustration

I am Irene, a freelance visual artist from San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines. I have a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and, after passing my board exams, entered medical school thinking that being a physician was my calling. But upon exposure to the actual hospital setting in my last year as a medical student, I strongly felt that I was not meant to be there. And so I left. It took me a couple of months of soul-searching to find out what I was supposed to do with my life since I spent most of my twenties preparing myself to become a doctor. And then one day after crying out to God, I was suddenly reminded of my love for drawing. Today, I continue treading that path. Thank you so much for dropping by!
