Artist Bio Inspired by the outdoors and tropical locations, Dustan’s art is one that lends itself to dreams of far away places and colors as bright as the sunset sky he interprets. These rich earthy hues are juxtaposed with the punch of black and white styling details which truly capture the attention of the viewer Dustan began his journey traveling as a young adult to many tropical destinations – Maui, Kauai, and Costa Rica. It was on these trips, that he became inspired by the tropical settings and rich colors of the landscape. His love for nature, the warmth of the places he visited, along with his love of outdoor sports, it was only fitting for his talent as an artist to focus on this for his art making. Formally trained as an industrial designer, Dustan’s signature is applying his art to interesting materials that he works with daily. For example; maple wood skateboard decks and raw sheet metal. It is the textures of these materials that enhance his art pieces and unique styling. Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Dustan spent many of his childhood days at the beaches of Bolsa Chica and Seal Beach learning the art of surfing and gaining a respect for the outdoor lifestyle. It is Dustan’s dream to permanently relocate to Kauai full time to focus on his art. Currently, Dustan resides in Ladera Ranch, California with his wife and daughter.
