From being a traveler that has seen many corners of the country of Kenya, I realized that the best way to show the experiences I've had with nature, wildlife, and animals, is to be able to create merchandise that involves it in our daily lives. As I traveled during the lockdown, I noticed that nature stayed the same while we were, ourselves in society, fighting for survival. To draw inspiration from the cyclical nature of habitats and ecosystems that have sustained themselves, we must turn towards them and realize that our behaviors may have detrimental effects and stop them. I believe in storytelling, and the moments I spent on game drives in Nairobi National Park, Tsavo East, and Masai Mara were pivotal in my creative development and the way I decided to portray natural settings in my art. The beauty of the impalas galloping, while the male responsible for the herd remained distinct from his flock, and how the lionesses rested in the shade while the heat of the day wore on, taught me that excitement can be found in nature, as well as patience of interactions we have with each other. Through my images that I have displayed on these items, I hope to bring to you a fresh perspective on Africa, one that has not been seen this way, and could help to reimagine how we connect with places all over the world.
