@Aluramore and @Howleir are long time friends who share an enjoyment of Overwatch esports. During the inaugural season of Overwatch League, they would regularly discuss the goings on of the matches and as they would part ways joke about the potential of starting a podcast. Fast forward to the 2019 Overwatch League season, and week 1 of matches came and went and the same familiar activities ensued. Discussion, jokes about a podcast, going home. during the downtime between weeks 1 and 2, Aluramore sent Howleir our original logo. A hood with a fan where the face should be saying that the podcast that would never happen could be called “Casual Overwatch League Fans” and be abbreviated to “COWL Fans” to create a classic pun the two of them shared. This spawned a ton of conversation, and by the next day, episode 0 had been recorded. We love the league and want to see it succeed, and localize. As local fans, who are from one of the team’s areas, we are in a unique position to record on site together, support our team, and present the happenings in a way that any fan could enjoy, even the casuals. We’re looking forward to our future!
