Does anyone remember the book of the month club? What about the bookstores? There used to be so many bookstores! I would walk into a bookstore and I could smell the ink. I wanted to read every single book!! A book is an amazing piece of technology. When predictions raved that moving pictures would replace books, Thomas Edison said, "It is very hard to replace a book." So true! Since the invention of the print press, many books have been written and published. The lost authors are too many to count. Don't forget the art and illustrators! Some of the coolest art is on book covers and inside the pages. Not just books, but magazines, advertisements, catalogues, epherma and more. I have collected vintage paper, books, magazines, letters, and illustrations for decades. Now in my late years, I'm looking at this collection and wondering what I can do with them all. I have decided to make them available on these quality products. I hope you return often to see what new images I have added and to learn about an author or illustrator that you never knew before. I think this might be a good way to honor lost authors and artists. And, not surprisingly, I have organically added my original images.
