Our Story
Well, it starts with a little ditty about Jack and Diane; two Americans kids growin’ up in the heartland…just kidding.
This is a story about Alexandra and Tripp–two Americans growin’ up in Florida (and Alexandra is still working on the “growin' up” part).
Alex suffered from a serious case of the dreamer’s disease… so polite, busy still saying please (last song reference..ish). While Tripp was “meant” to be a sea-faring pirate, sailing the seven seas and drinking rum all day– drink up me hearties – yo ho! (ok, now we’re really done with the song references).
After graduation, they found themselves smack in the middle of a recession; and the only way they were going to satiate their career craving was to create one of their very own. Tripp continued on to the University of Central Florida’s PhD program in Human Factors Psychology; while Alexandra enrolled in the university’s Masters in Business Administration program.
One day that little light bulb went on over their heads while complaining about the lack in versatility revolving around the button. One thing led to another, bada-bing bada-boom, ALTR was born and Alexandra took home the University’s 1st place prize in their annual Entrepreneurial Joust!
Now, they are able to grow a company that provides a work environment as fun as its product, and encourages innovation daily. Never settle for what is “available” – all it takes is a dream and some heart…and maybe some rum.
P.S. Have you figured out how we came up with the company name yet?

These button covers are such fun! I mix and match different designs. I also created earrings out of a few of them to go with the custom buttons.

I tried these instead of the smaller button covers because the smaller ones are a bit difficult to pop on and off the actual button. The larger covers are more easily viewed by people and more easily used.

These button are surprising small, and detailed. They might make for interesting craft projects or simply as button covers.
