My husband recently watched a new movie related to jewel heists which reminded me of a short story I wrote in fifth grade about a brooch that mysteriously disappears during an antique convention at a hotel. The brooch was spider-shaped and jewel-encrusted. I decided to try out a little spidery jewel design & paired it with the polka-dotted Halloween bow because I was just fixated on the cuteness of that bow design from another painting. I went with green for the background to contrast with the red spider. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
