Two Hummingbirds Above a White Orchid (c. 1870s) by Martin Johnson Heade is a vintage fine art still life nature painting. Two birds sitting on a tree branch perched over a blooming white orchid flower in a tropical rainforest. A beautiful landscape with palm trees and mountains in the distance. About the artist: Martin Johnson Heade (1819-1904) was a prolific American painter during the Victorian Era known for his salt marsh landscapes, seascapes, tropical birds, lotus blossoms and other still lifes. His painting style was derived from the romanticism of the time. A deep reverence for nature attracted him to the Luminist school of painting. Luminism, in its concern with the effect of light, is now seen as a precursor of Impressionism.

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
