• Step 1: Go to our custom art page. All of our blank wall art and home décor templates are found here.
• Step 2: Select a blank template. You can also choose to ‘Personalise [an] Existing Design[s]’ if you want a foundation to work with, instead.
• Step 3: On the product page, choose a desired size, shape or material. These options may differ between products, but there’s usually at least one drop-down button.
• Step 4: Add images, text and design elements in Zazzle's design tool - this is where you'll add your own personal touch to your product!
• Step 5: Click 'Done' and see your final design! Once you’ve added it to your cart, we’ll take care of the rest, and the next time you see your creation will be when it arrives on your doorstep!

While we can’t exactly count Jackson Pollock among our Independent Creators here at Zazzle, we do have a few tips for creating abstract art prints. Firstly, much abstract art is composed of geometrical shapes, as artists strive to reduce recognisable images to their bare essentials. Try clicking ‘Elements’ on the left-hand side of the design tool to see our configurable shapes. Secondly, abstract art is often very colourful, so be sure to use the full complement of colours in our design tool when creating your design (you can even input hex codes to target specific shades). Finally, it can also help to upload a more traditional-looking piece of art first using the ‘My Files’ option on the design tool. Then, experiment with the different capabilities of the design tool to put a spin on that image: you could add filters, crop pieces from it, overlay it with graphics or change background colours. This will transform your conventional artwork into something less realistic but more symbolic.
