Young Routy Poster

Young Routy Poster

This a reproduction of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec's 1882 masterpiece, "Le Jeune Routy a Celeyran" or "The Young Routy at Celeyran" in English. This is one of Toulouse-Lautrec's earliest paintings and portrays a young workman at the artist's mother's estate at Celeyran. He was brought back to his birthplace of Albi from Paris when he was eleven to treat a growing list of congenital conditions. At 13 and 14 respectively his legs were broken and they did not heal correctly or grow further. Restricted from many activities by his unusual lack of height, Toulouse-Lautrec dedicated himself to his art and become one of the most recognisable artists of the late Nineteenth Century. He die don September 9, 1901. This masterpiece is currently at the Musee Toulouse-Lautrec in Albi, France.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
