Young Children Playing on the Beach (Mary Cassatt) Ceramic Tile
This design features a painting by the American Impressionist artist Mary Cassatt (1844–1926). It shows two young girls playing together on the beach. The children have their backs toward each other, and one of the girls is facing toward the viewer. They are both looking down at their hands, which are a holding a bucket and spade, used to build sandcastles on the beach. It's a beautiful image of traditional childhood, enjoying summer on the sand by the sea. The original artwork was painted in 1884.
