The California gold-rush of 1849 was an extraordinary time in American history. People came from all over the world. Fortunes were made and lives were changed. My own Great-Great Grandfather travelled all the way from Virginia, he was a teamster. He made enough money to come to Missouri, buy land and start a family. Without him, there would be no me.
