The tile (ca. 1910) depicts a yellow Waterlily by J.H. Barratt. Tile making in Stoke-on-Trent has a long history, dating back to the 17th century. By the late 19th century, the area was known for producing high-quality ceramic tiles for both functional and decorative purposes. J.H. Barratt & Co. was part of this tradition, producing tiles for use in homes, public buildings, and other structures.
