The following sea turtles are endangered by poachers and have used the black sand beaches to lay eggs for thousands of years: Leatherback, Loggerhead, and Green turtles . The "Tortuga Squad" as I called them, had learned in school of the dangers to these turtles, and are working with their families to keep the poachers away.
