Woven Trivet Pattern Large Clock

A trivet woven from what looks like some kind of reed fibre, in lovely earth colours, reminiscent of tribal decorative patterns from Africa, or the hues used in Australian aboriginal art. The photo of the trivet was turned into a repeating pattern with just a bit of copying and mirroring. This was one of the first, if not even the very first, repeating pattern I made by mirroring a photo, and I liked the effect and look of it so much that I did it more frequently later, even taking pictures specifically for the purpose of making them into such patterns. I usually like making my symmetrical patterns from photos and paintings rather than digitally as it makes for more a more organic look, with a richness and variety both in colour and texture that it's hard to replicate digitally. Still, I think it's possible to make interesting ones digitally too - if done in the right way.
