Woman in Green (The Day Dream) (by D.G. Rosetti) Ceramic Tile

This design features a painting by the founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828–1882). It shows Jane Morris in a seated position on the bough of a sycamore tree. She is holding a small stem of honeysuckle in her hand, which was considered a token of love in Victorian times. Some critics have seen this as a symbol of the secret affair that the artist was engaged in with her at the time. The painting is known as "The Day Dream", but it was originally intended to be named "Monna Primavera" (Lady in Spring). The artwork was painted in 1880, and it was donated to the Victoria and Albert Museum by Constantine Alexander Ionides in 1900.
