Even though Dorothy's magic slippers are silver in the book, they were designed to be red in the Technicolor movie to show up more vividly against the yellow brick road and are one of the most iconic items. In this unique piece of art, we celebrate the original silver shoes as portrayed in the books.
In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy’s Silver Shoes play a significant role. These enchanted shoes were originally worn by the Wicked Witch of the East. However, when Dorothy’s farmhouse lands on the Wicked Witch and inadvertently kills her, the Good Witch of the North explains that the shoes now belong to Dorothy. Throughout her journey in the Land of Oz, Dorothy wears these magical shoes and at the end of the book, she clicks them three times to her back home.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
