With Aloha Notebook

Back in '71 there was a seamstress at the old International Market Place in Honolulu. This was when it was in the original location. Near the back of the shops, there was a wooden stairway you could take to a large tree house in an enormous banyan tree where there were more shops and cafes. A local lady owned an apparel shop. You could select a muu'uu or aloha shirt pattern and the fabric you wanted. Within 24 hours she had your garment ready. She did beautiful work and had the most incredible fabric selection. On display was an elegant muu'muu with a border print cascading down one side. I have never forgotten that stunning design and have tried to replicate it in several paintings. My muu'muu is long worn out yet the memories remain. This is with deepest Aloha to the memory of that wonderful and talented seamstress. With Aloha.
