This painting by Willie Pogány is a vintage illustration for the storybook, “A Treasury of Verse for Little Children”, 1912.
William Andrew ("Willy") Pogány born Vilmos Andreas Pogány was a prolific Hungarian illustrator of children’s books and other books. He is best known for his pen and ink drawings of myths and fables. A large portion of Pogány’s work is described as Art Nouveau. Pogány's artistic style is heavily fairy-tale orientated and often feature motifs of mythical animals such as nymphs and pixies. He paid great attention to botanical details. He used dreamy and warm pastel scenes with watercolors, oil paintings, and especially pen and ink.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
