The rich "Tulip and Rose" pattern was created by the English designer William Morris in 1876. This rendition, crafted in woven wool, comes from the book, The art of William Morris, by Aylmer Vallance (London: Chiswick Press, 1897), in the collection of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Library via the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/details/artofwilliammorr00vall). Superluminal's Portable Imagery specialises in home furnishings and paper goods featuring designs by William Morris; classic paisleys, batiks, Indian, Japanese, and Chinese textiles; carpet patterns from Turkey, Persia, the Caucasus, India, and Central Asia; Moorish and Turkish ceramic designs; flora and fauna from antiquarian books; alchemical images and Persian miniatures.
