William Morris Floral Medway - Tie

William Morris,1834-1896, was one of the most influential voices in Victorian art and architecture, and his influence spread far into the 20th century in the form of the Arts and Crafts Movement that he helped spawn. All of his designs seem to consist of many layers. The background in this design is dark blue with a layer of small flower vines of light blue and white on top of that. The top-most layer is a dark blue vine with two colours of flowers on the vine - orange flowers and orange and white striped flowers. This design was most likely a wallpaper print or textile print.
