Wild West Pony Express Riders Poster

This is an historical flyer for the Pony Express company. I have added my original graphic art wood border and nails. The Pony Express company wanted riders to deliver mail across the country from Missouri to the wild west of Sacramento in 10 days. They always advertised for young men who had no ties to family because it was a long and dangerous route to ride. The riders relayed across America travelling the route by horseback to deliver the U.S. mail. In those days the route only covered two States, Missouri and California, because the rest of the country were territories. This was a short lived company because a year later the telegraph and railroad would soon be taking a route across America also. In April of 2010 it will be the 150 year anniversary of the Pony Express.
