Wild Tulip Pattern (by William Morris) Stone Coaster

This design is based on a wallpaper pattern created by British designer William Morris (1834–1896), who is especially well known and respected for his association with the Arts and Crafts Movement. It is an elegant floral pattern featuring tulip flowers and foliage, as well as diagonally running stems of larger flowers and leaves. The distinctive red background makes the flowers appear all the more appealing. The original pattern was first created by Morris & Co. in 1884.

The coasters are gorgeous, a quality feel and heavy weight. They look like a precious archeological find. A rustic stone juxtaposed with a modern floral black and white print. I like the way the print goes slightly imperfect on the cut stone edges giving them a kind-of natural beauty. They are a great product and I use them to protect the arms of my couch from hot cups of coffee. Printing is good happy with the quality.
