* Wild horse (Equus ferus), an undomesticated species that roamed Asia and Europe. Here, "wild" means that the species as a whole has not been domesticated. o Przewalski's Horse (Equus ferus przewalskii or Equus przewalskii), the only true wild horse alive today o Tarpan (Equus ferus ferus), became extinct in the late 19th century, the only other undomesticated horse surviving into historical times * Feral horses, free-roaming descendants of domesticated horses (Equus caballus). Here, "wild" means that the individuals are currently living in an untamed state, even though they belong to a species that has been domesticated. Feral horses include, but are not limited to: o Brumby, the feral horse of Australia o Camargue horse, in marshes of the Rhone delta, southern France o Mustang, a feral horse of the Western United States * The Yukon wild horse (Equus lambei), now extinct
