White Rock Lake Dam Poster

The view of the White Rock Lake Dam from the Old Fish Hatchery Trail to the Switchback that crosses the top of the dam operated by the Dallas Water Utility. One interesting fact is now there are bronze numbered markers along the top that the utilities use like the US Geological Survey Uses. The two square mile lake has trails around the lake that total 9.3 miles by foot or by bike. The White Rock Trail Head including the lake is a total of 17 miles from Hillcrest and I-635 LBJ Freeway. At the end of this view, is an opposing lookout view over the dam and the great and lesser spillways below. Bird like seagulls, comorants, pelicans, American Bald Eagles, Great White Egrets, Great Blue Herons and Night Herons can also be found on and above the spillways. The opposing lookout views on Garland Road face this way of the dam and the open lake view. The Dallas Arboretum is across the lake from the trail across the top of the dam and continues around the east side of the lake towards Flag Pole Hill at the north end of the lake.
