Where were the 911 interceptors? Men's T-shirt

NORAD's total lack of response on 9/11 is just one of the many aspects of the day that begs major questions. No attempt was made to engage the 'hijacked' planes what so ever, even though the Pentagon was surrounded by restricted airspace. Of the 2 jets that were finally scrambled, they were sent wildly off course, arriving too late. The day was thwart with chaos which included 'first day on the job' staff, lack of availability of the high-rankers, jets being deployed en masse to take part in exercises, authority being questioned, ghost-hijackings, and so on. With all the apparent 'warnings' of an attack, why on earth was the threat-level put to its lowest setting? It seems that the 'attacks' were part of a covert operation in which members of the government were instigating and protecting from interference.
