When the Blue Star Turns to Gold 12x36 size Poster

I came across this poem, When the Blue Star Turns to Gold by Will Cressy, when reading a newspaper from 1918. The words are now in the public domain and as Memorial Day came around I recalled it and thought to share it with those who would appreciate it, those with loved ones in the military who knows what it is like to have a Service Flag placed in the window...hoping and waiting for them to come home. I don't think I can put the whole poem in this space, but here is a part... "Ah, those service flags of crimson, How we glory in each star; How we love our boys and miss them, And how proud of them we are. And if God in his infinite wisdom Should call them back to his fold, We will still fly our flag of crimson– But the blue star now is gold." The service flag is a custom started, I believe in WWI, where a white flag with a red border, and a star in the centre, was hung in the window. A blue star on the flag represents a service member in active duty. If a star changes to red it shows they have been injured. If it turns gold it represents that the service member had been killed in action or died in service.
