As found on the floor of the family tomb in the nave of the Old Church at Harderwijk (Harderwyk), Gelderland (Guelders, Gelre, Geldriae), Netherlands (Holland as written in the book). The extended family included hereditary burgomasters van Westervelt of Harderwijk who ruled from Kasteel De Essenburg (now spelled Essenburgh) and the closely related ruling family of Salland at Kasteel Westervelt (-veldt, -veld, -velde) in Overijssel north of Zwolle whose rulers called Drosts (appointed by the Prince of Orange William the Silent) included Gerard van Warmelo Lord of Westervelt who defeated the Spanish general Spinola at Berkumer Bridge in 1606 (August 2).
