Weeping Red Tree- Song of Songs 4:11 Greeting Card

This print comes from a painting I did for my younger brother’s 40th birthday. He said I could use only black and white paint, but I convinced him to give me just one other colour to work with, so I chose red. He wanted mostly black and white, so I took the liberty of using three bold shades of red for the tree. Today, the painting sits above my brother’s fireplace, and yes, he loves it. The text inside is a romantic scripture from the bible's Song of Songs: "Your lips, my bride, drip honey; Honey and milk are under your tongue, And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon."
