This design features a painting by the British artist Frederic Leighton (1830–1896), who was famous for his works depicting historical, biblical, and classical scenes in an academic style. This painting shows a couple of recently married lovers in a close embrace; the scene and dress is traditionally Mediterranean. It is a beautiful depiction of love and the expression of tender emotions. The original painting was completed in 1882 and it is now housed in the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Sydney, Australia.
