Waterhouse Juliet Poster
John William Waterhouse Juliet poster. Oil painting on canvas from 1898. The English artist John Waterhouse painted a variety of literary and mythical scenes with a charming degree of romanticism. Shakespeare was a frequent theme for Waterhouse, and Juliet stands as a beautiful example of his love of the female face in profile. Juliet is depicted as a young girl with brown eyes and wavy dark brown hair wearing a gold headband and a white renaissance dress with red sleeves. The girl is looking on the streets of Verona as she touches her blue bead necklace. A great gift for fans of John Waterhouse, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare, and English Romantic painting.

Beautiful print. She is as wistful and innocent as Shakespeare created her to be. Not a flaw on the poster. Colors were vibrant. Laminated well.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
