Waterhouse Circe Invidiosa Poster

Waterhouse Circe Invidiosa Poster

John William Waterhouse Circi Invidiosa poster. Oil painting on canvas from 1892. English painter John Waterhouse’s Circe Invidiosa depicts a classic scene from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. The goddess Circe stands wearing a beautiful peacock dress pouring a bowl of green potion into the pool into which her romantic rival Scylla is going to bathe. The waters below bubble and turn an enchanting aquamarine. A great gift for fans of J.W. Waterhouse, Greek mythology, the Pre-Raphaelites, Ovid, and English Romantic painting.

Very cool. I’m going to use this on a chest I have in my bathroom. It turned out well. The printing is always good from Zazzle

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
