Creeping Barberry (Mahonia repens, also called Oregon Grape) grows wild in the White Mountains of Arizona. This original design was sketched from nature and hand-painted in watercolor.
When I first started getting to know the plants around me, I also decided to "draw to learn" rather than "learn to draw". My goal is to capture the color, beauty, and personality of the native plants in the Mountain West.
