This is 'Water Lilies' by master artist Claude Monet. Monet did many paintings of Water Lilies from the ponds on his estate in Giverny, France and this a very special water lily painting from 1922. Monet is one of the most well known of the artists painting in the style known as impressionism (or French impressionism). Muted lavender and dark greens are a backdrop for the water lily blossoms and lily pads that catch and reflect the light to stand out in the composition. A favourite by many who love French impressionism and Claude Monet.
