American petroglyphs. Photographed in Southern Utah in the Anasazi Canyon. Petroglyphs throughout Utah are said to be from several indigenous cultures, including Navajo and Anasazi. The rocks have desert varnish on them. These two images are at the edge of a steep dropoff to the canyon floor below. It is believed to have been the native people's warning that unless a person steps back (towards the direction the feet are facing -away from the canyon) then one's fate is the free fall (figure of the person to the right of the feet.)
