"Wamanje Hintewi" (Our Crops) Notecard

"Wamanje Hintewi" (Our Crops) is a commissioned painting I painted for the World Food Prize Hall of Laureates in Des Moines, Iowa in 2013. It portrays a Native American woman working in her fields among our traditional crops. I originally did a similar work used by the University of Iowa Press on the cover of their book "Iowa's Archaeological Past" (2000), but that one "Mak^anye" was set during the planting season in the spring. This one is the same scene but during harvest time.

A beautiful card. Highest quality materials and print. Misunderstood the explanation of the gold accent. I took it as the design would be metallic in its appearance. Still a lovely card and I am extremely happy with it overall. Perfect, only that I expected the gold to be metallic.
