WALL CLOCK WITH HEMP LEAF PATTERN
It is a dial wall clock made of hemp leaf pattern, a traditional Japanese pattern. The base of the dial is a thick line of the continuous pattern "Asa no ha nagi" . At 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, a single hemp leaf pattern, which is a hexagonal geometric pattern, is arranged. Hemp leaf patterns have been used to decorate Buddhist statues since ancient times and became popular as patterns of kimono in the Edo period. With the aim of making children grow straighter and bigger like hemp, a strong and fast-growing life, it has been used often as a pattern for kimono for children.
