Vivid Yellow Helenium with Purple Centre Cutting Board

This lovely yellow gold helenium, sometimes known as sneezeweed, looks cheery with its fringe of golden petals spinning around a purple centre that looks almost like a pincushion. The full Latin name of the Helenium autumnale is tied to Helen of Troy, although the plants are native to the Americas. The Helenium is a member of the same family as coneflowers, cosmos, and sunflowers, which is the Asteraceae family.
